Alright, what's going on everyone? My name is Oi, and welcome to a new FC25 formations tutorial! Today, we're diving into one of the best, if not the best, narrow formations in Ultimate Team: the 4-3-1-2. Let's get into it!
The 4-3-1-2: A Direct and Deadly Formation
Yo yo yo, welcome back, boys, to another best tactics tutorial! Today, we're focusing on the 4-3-1-2. I might have initially written 4-3-2-1, a throwback to the overpowered FC24, but we're all about the 4-3-1-2 today. You've got the code on the screen, and I'm going to explain why I'm using what I'm using.
This formation is direct, no bull. It's straightforward, man! It's fantastic for counter-attacks and offers opportunities even when the opponent is parking the bus. You've got four key attacking options:
- The CAM: Free-roaming, creating a lot of chances.
- The Left Back: Specifically, a Wing Back or Wing Back Plus, which is great for creating on the left side.
- The Left CM and Right CM: Providing additional attacking options.
Tactical Setup: Instructions and Player Roles
Let's jump into the tactics. For the 4-3-1-2, we're going for Counter for the build-up play. This is to maximize the straight passing and counter-attacking opportunities.
Defensive Approach: The key here is your center backs. If your center backs have pace between 77 and 80, you can be more aggressive. If they're slower, I'd recommend a lower defensive width. I'd say under 70, maybe even 65. If you have monster center backs, you can go higher, but for this video, I'm leaving it at 65.
Now, let's move on to player roles. I'm using the Barcelona team as an example.
- Central Midfielder (CM): I recommend someone more physical here. Imagine a player like Jo Ellington or Rodry. For this example, I'm using Pedri, but ideally, you want someone with more strength.
- Right Back (RB): Jules Koundé, Fullback Plus. This is the defensive option. I never select "Stay Back While Attacking" because he drops too deep.
- Center Backs (CB): Defender Plus for both. Never use "Stopper Plus" at this moment; it's too risky. Your player will go forward, and if they miss an interception, you're in trouble.
- Left Back (LB): Balde, Wing Back Plus. This gives you attacking versatility. "Fall Back While Attacking" isn't needed in this formation.
- Left CM and Right CM: For the CMs, you'll want one with Holding, and the other with Box to Box.
- CAM: Minimum four-star weak foot, great passer, and good dribbling are essential. Playmaker is the best role for this position.
- Strikers (ST): This depends on your strikers. For one, I'm using Power. For the other, Advanced Forward.
Attacking and Defensive Strategies
When attacking, the formation transforms into a 3-4-1-2, with most attacks focused on the left side. This can be adjusted if your right back is better with the ball.
- CM Roles: For the CMs, you'll want one with Holding, and the other with Box to Box.
- CAM: Playmaker is the best role for that position.
- Strikers: For one, I'm using Power. For the other, Advanced Forward.
