Alright, what's up, guys? Today, we're diving deep into the custom tactics that helped me become a European Champion in FIFA/EA FC. This is the 4-2-1-3, and trust me, it's a game-changer. Let's get into it!
Build-Up Play and Depth
First things first, the build-up style is set to Unbalanced. This gives you a good mix of options when you're trying to get the ball forward. Now, a lot of people might think I'm playing with a super high depth, but it's actually set to 70. This is crucial for keeping a solid defensive line while still allowing for some forward pressure.
Player Instructions and Roles
Let's break down the instructions and roles for each position:
- Goalkeeper: Just on "Goalkeeper". Nothing fancy here. I don't know if it makes sense to put him on sweeper keeper or not.
- Right and Left Backs: Both on "Fullback" and "Defend". This is super important! Having them on "Defend" makes defending a lot easier because they stay closer to the center backs.
- Center Backs: Both on "Defender" and "Defense". Basic, solid, and reliable. Don't mess with it.
- CDMs: Both on "Deep Line Playmaker" and "Build Up Play". This is where the magic happens! They join the attack, which is key. If you have them on "Holding," they just stay back, and I don't like that. I want my CDMs involved in the attack.
- CAM: On "Playmaker" and "Balanced". This is the most important position in my team. She makes a lot of good runs in the box and is always a threat.
- Left and Right Wingers: Both on "Inside Forward" and "Roaming". Inside forward is the best instruction you can give in this formation because it's so hard for your opponent to defend them. It's easy to find those players, and you can just easily with a Tik taka play Stell pass around in the Box.
- Striker: On "Get in Behind" and "Attack". With a Counterattack it's easy to find him one through ball and he's gone.
Attacking Strategy: Counter-Attacking
The best way to attack with this formation is through Counter-Attacking. It's so easy because your right winger, left winger, and striker stay forward, making them easy targets for through balls. It's by far the best attacking style for this formation.
Defensive Considerations
Defensively, the strength of this formation is the presence of the CDMs. After the patch, it's a must to have CDMs in your formation. You don't have time to track them back. The weakness is obviously the left and right wingers because they stay forward. You can concede a lot of goals, but you need to accept that you can also score a lot of goals.
Attacking Advantages and Gameplay
Attacking-wise, it's easy in the books. You have a striker, a right winger on inside forward, and a left winger on inside forward. If you have your CAM on the ball, you have three passing options. It's very hard for your opponent to defend that way. Your opponent cannot cover three passing options. So, if you make a good choice up front, it's so easy to score goals.
If your opponent plays with three midfielders, like with a CAM and two CDMs or like two CDMs and a CAM, it's very hard to find your own CAM in this formation because like I said, it's hard to trigger your fullbacks when they are on defense. I went and beat him with this formation, but I conceded a lot of goals, and the reason is that my opponent can build up, and he can take his time with his attacks. So for me, it's just waiting, waiting for the opponent to make a choice, and if you make a good choice, then it's a goal.
