Alright, YouTube, we're back! Let's dive into some custom tactics for what I reckon is the best, most well-rounded formation in FC25: the 4213. It's a bit of a meta rat formation, I know, but it's just so good.
The Power of the 4213
The 4213 is amazing, broken, meta, the works! The real secret sauce is those two CDMs. Any formation in FC25 with two CDMs – the 4213, the 4231, the 4231 (second variation), the 442 (second variation) – is incredibly tough to break down. Your opponent will seriously struggle to create chances against you.
Tactical Preset Breakdown
Let's get into the custom tactics. Remember, the code for these tactics will be in the top pinned comment and at the end of the video if you just want to type it in.
- Tactical Preset: 4213
- Build Up Play: Balance. This gives you a good mix of players making forward runs and coming short. I like to feel in control, so I can manually trigger runs with L1. Counter is also a solid option, but I prefer balance.
- Defensive Approach: Balance. The line height is still a bit broken in FC25, so it only uses 95, 70, 50, or 25. Balance will always default to 50, which is perfect.
Player Roles: The Key to Success
Now, let's talk player roles. This is where the magic happens.
- Left Winger & Right Winger: Inside Forward and Balance. Think of this like a prime Mané and Salah for Liverpool under Klopp. They're constantly cutting inside, making those penetrating runs towards the striker.
- Striker: Advanced Forward and Attack. Simple, he's there to get in behind and score goals.
- CAM: Playmaker and Balance. This is where you have some flexibility. Playmaker and Balance is what I'm using right now. Classic 10 and Shadow Striker are also excellent choices. If you're struggling to create chances, give the Shadow Striker a go. Classic 10 is similar to Playmaker and Balance.
- CDMs: Holding and Defend. These guys are your shield. They're there to protect the back four, simple as that.
- Right Back: Fullback and Defend. He'll tuck in, almost like a third center-back when you don't have the ball.
- Center Backs: Defender and Defend. Standard, solid, and reliable.
- Goalkeeper: Goalkeeper and Balance. With a balanced focus, the keeper will occasionally leave his area to collect long or loose balls. I want him to be a sweeper keeper.
- Left Back: Attacking Wing Back and Balance. He'll push high up the pitch on the left side when you have the ball.
So, with the ball, you've got the left back pushing high, the wingers tucking in, creating a front three with two inside forwards and a striker. The playmaker is in that number 10 role, and you've got the solid back three with the two CDMs holding things down.
