Alright, let's dive into these game-winning tactics, guys! I've been getting bombarded with questions about my 5-3-2, and for good reason. This formation is something special, and I've even taken it all the way to a pro tournament win. So, let's break down the team and the tactics that make this 5-3-2 absolutely lethal.
The Team Setup
First off, let's look at the team. I'm using some top-tier players, like B and Van Dijk, to illustrate the roles. In my actual pro team, I'm running with players like Minan and Vanen. My team might be a bit weaker this season, having sold some key players, but we're still cooking with 18 million coins in the bank. We've got our untradeable drug B, a top player from those rank one rewards.
Tactics and Player Instructions
Now, before you just copy everything, listen up! This is how the formation looks without the ball, and how it transforms with possession. That attacking left side is absolutely crucial.
- Goalkeeper: Goalkeeper Plus Plus. You can use a Sweeper Keeper here, which I actually prefer, but we're using the Plus Plus. We believe it makes people better.
- Right Back: Fullback Balance. You need someone who can get up and down the pitch, someone who can attack, but the priority is defending. They'll sit in a back four.
- Left Center Back: Defender Defend. This player is key. If you have someone with a lot of pace, a wide center back, get them on the left side so they can run after the right winger and use their Pace like Vanen.
- Right Center Back: Defender Defend.
- Middle Center Back: Defender Defend. Now, a few players have this player on defend. Van Dijk, I've got him on Ball Playing Defender. He steps out into the middle of the pitch, receives the ball, gives it to Soko, gives it to Bellingham. He's a really, really good player in this role. But the thing is, if I use like CBA here or Vanen, they're not very good. It's more to do with the R Plus Plus, so make sure you are using them where you can guys.
- CDM: Soko. This player is the best CDM on the game by a mile. EVO to the max. Soko, Long Ball Pass, Ping Pass. Get Holding and Defend on this player.
- Left Center Mid: Playmaker and Attack.
- Right Center Mid: This is where you can change everything. Either Playmaker, Holding, or Box to Box. I actually use Box to Box. I put him on Playmaker because I want to see where the player settles. If you guys have watched any of my pro games, like I said live on Twitch, I do a cut back from the left back to the right center mid with that green power shot first time and I'm trying to find the roll which makes him stand in the perfect position. Go back to Box to Box, use Balan, Hold and Defend and Playmaker Attack. Look at the dynamic guys, like the way we build up center backs to the DM to the right center mid to the left Center mid. If you hit the left Center mid that triggered left back will be in on goal. Then you can go to the right with a false nine Mbappe on the plus roll or the drug but on Advanced forward. So if I have the ball of the playmaker I have Meny on the left, I have drog Brook front, I have mbappe on the right but pulled away from his marking Center back and then Bruno on the left or even just reverse it and give it back to Soko.
Tactical Instructions
Now, let's get into the tactics. We're going with a custom 5-3-2:
- Defensive Style: Balanced
- Width: 40
- Depth: 70
- Offensive Style: Balanced
- Width: 45
- Players in Box: 6
- Corners: 3
- Free Kicks: 2
Personnel Breakdown
Let's talk about the ideal players for each position:
- Goalkeeper: You want someone around 6'4" or taller. They need to be able to reach everything. The best play style currently in the game for goalkeepers is Gold Rush Out. This makes them smother one-on-ones with ease.
- Center Backs:
- Middle Center Back: Ball Playing Defender. Someone like Van Dijk is perfect here. He's got the R Plus Plus, Gold Aerial, Silver Anticipate, Silver Long Ball, Silver Power Header, Silver Bruiser, Silver Block. He's really, really good.
- Wide Center Backs: Minimum requirement is pace and Anticipate at least Silver. Varan is even better because he's got Silver Aerial and Silver Ping Pass, so I can play out from the back with so much ease.
- CDM: Long Ball Plus is guaranteed. Ping Pass is an absolute extra as well. Quick Step, Relentless, and Technical are also good. Long Ball Pass is the golden gem in this position.
- Wing Backs: You need a lot of pace here. Both of mine have Rapid. On the left, I usually use Theo Hernandez. He's more important than the right back. The right back needs to be able to get in behind, maybe have a shot on goal, be agile, and have Pace, but defensive is what you need more on that side. On the left, Hernandez is what you want: bags of pace.
- Center Mids:
- Left Center Mid: Playmaker Plus Plus. You don't need the play style, but you just need a left foot if you can ideally or a right footer with finesse would be ideal too maybe ping pass that'd be really good for fizzing into the striker.
- Right Center Mid: I'm leaning more towards the passing route, like a Bruno Fernandez. He's perfect: Gold Long Ball, can zip it over to that left back or even do the one near you if that right back's running forward, can give it to Bruno, do a little dink over the top, and he will be in. Bruno is really important for our team because he has Dead Ball Silver, which means I can take Corners, I can take free kicks with these rather than having to use the default settings.
- Strikers:
- Right Striker: You want someone who can play False Nine. He's got Quick Step Gold, he's got Finesse Silver.
- Left Striker: Advanced Forward Plus. You want an R9, someone with a five-star weak foot, someone with Pace, someone with finishing.
Gameplay Examples
Let's see how this all works in a real game.
- Maintaining Shape: You want to maintain the shape. Don't drag anyone out of position. Defend with the center mids. Mark the passes.
- Set Pieces: With any set piece, you're going to want to trigger fullbacks.
- Build-Up Play: Look for the pass out. We've got Ping Pass, Gold Long Ball, which is so important in that DM role.
- Triggering Runs: Make sure you're triggering the fullbacks. It's so important.
- Aggressive Defense: You can be so aggressive with the center backs, win the ball back, and still have four at the back.
- Over the Top Balls: Over the top balls are key.
- Dynamic Play: You can keep playing it about, then hit the LB.
- Pressing: Pressing from the front, winning the ball.
- High Line: When you play a high line, the opponent will either play it offside or play it too early, and you're going to win the ball.
- CDM Role: If you get the ball to that DM with Long Ball P and they come and press you, they can't be marking the over the top ball as well.
This formation is so good, guys. It's the best tactics I've ever released, genuinely.
