Alright guys, red like here, and I'm back with one of my signature formation and tactics videos! This 4411 is so, so good in FC25, and you can really, really use that power shot and first-time over-the-top through ball. Now, without further ado, let's get into it!
Team Selection and Player Roles
First things first, let's talk about the team. We've got Van Der Sar in goal, Van Dijk and Varane in defense, and a Lente Evo. But the big player in this team, the one who's probably saving me coins, is the Bruno Fernandez Gold Card. Joking! FC25, yeah, all he's got is that first-time LB/Y long ball pass gold, as well as dead ball silver, ping pass silver, incisive pass silver. He's got everything passing-wise, and guys, he's so, so good. I'm going to show you some clips later in this video of the first-time LB/Y and the power shot, most of the time in the same sequence, okay?
Here's the team:
- Goalkeeper: Van Der Sar (Sweeper Keeper)
- Defenders:
- Left Back: F. Hernandez (Fullback, Balanced)
- Center Backs: Van Dijk (Defender, Defend), Varane (Defender, Defend)
- Right Back: Lente Evo (Fullback, Balanced)
- Midfielders:
- Left Mid: Janola (Inside Forward)
- Center Mids: Box-to-Box (Balanced)
- Right Mid: (Inside Forward)
- Attacking Midfielder: Bruno Fernandez (Playmaker)
- Forwards: Drogba (Advanced Forward)
Now, let's head into the tactics and talk you through why I've got each and every player in each position.
Tactics: Formation and Build-Up
We're playing a 4411.
- Build Up Play: Short Passing. It's pretty simple. A lot of people like to play counter, but it's not sustainable. You can't keep the ball and punish your opponent like you should be able to.
- Chance Creation: Balanced. I've not really tried anything else, but I just don't like when my team are running away. You want your players to be showing, offering themselves for the ball, and if you want them to make a run, you can make them do that by pressing L1.
- Defensive Style: High. This is to combat that L1 triangle over the top. But if it gets too much, make sure to drop it down to 50. Me personally, I like it on 71.
- Width: 40
- Depth: 71
Player Instructions
Now, let's get into the player roles.
- Striker: Drogba (Advanced Forward). Drogba is a big talking point this season in FC25. A lot of Pros are using him over R9. Why? He's got gold Power Shot, he's big, he's strong, he's quick, and he's lengthy, and he just smashes shots in.
- Attacking Midfielder: Bruno Fernandez (Playmaker). As I said, first-time LB/Y is so, so good.
- Wingers: Inside Forward. This is so important because when you have them on Winger, they get in the way of the fullbacks and they just stand there. When they're on inside forward, they're going to come in, sort of like a ram and a lamb in a 4231, you know, cams bit further up, a bit more narrow, leaving that space for F. Hernandez and Lente to charge by on forward runs and make the most of your attack. That's so, so important in transition.
- Center Mids: Box-to-Box (Balanced). Guys, I had them on holding, didn't like it. They're way too deep, they're not offering anything in attack. I don't like that personally. Box-to-box with a smaller sort of woman like agile, really good on the ball.
- Fullbacks: Fullback, Balanced.
- Center Backs: Defender, Defend.
- Goalkeeper: Sweeper Keeper. If you have him on goalkeeper and bring him out for a corner, he will just lock off, go back into his goal, don't even want to catch it, and you'll concede. Here, on sweeper keeper, he'll come out and catch it, even if he hasn't got the plus plus, he'll be way better at claiming crosses and coming out for loose balls.
Set Pieces and Assignments
Don't forget about assignments!
- Captain: Van Dijk (big leader, Legend in this club)
- Free Kicks: Left short free kick, right short free kick, and long free kick are all going to be on Bruno Fernandez. Long free kick makes it seem like it's from the halfway line, it's not, it'll be from like 30 yards out, so make sure your dead ball player is on that.
- Penalty: Bruno for that special run up.
- Corners: Left corner and right corner on Bruno again. Dead ball is so, so important, even if it's just silver.
- Target Player: Van Dijk. He's going to stand on the edge of the six-yard box in that important position to win all them aerial battles.
- Front Post: One also very important.
- Back Post: Janola. He's an attacker, but he's also quite tall, so if the ball falls to him, he can take a shot, but he's also decent in the air as well.
Gameplay Demonstration
Here's how it looks without the ball and here's how it looks with the ball. And yeah guys, I've shown you a few clips, I've said how effective this formation is, and now I'm going to play a game live in the Pro ladder with all Pros in such as Tech Stokes, Onzo, Tom Lease. We're going to play a game in the ladder, hopefully win, and show you exactly why you should use this formation.

I'm now in this 4411, I swear to God, and wow, we're absolutely flying. If the patch comes in, we'll have to change, maybe looking at a 442 or 4213 is also really, really good, but EA Sports, why did you patch my five back, man?
