Alright lads, let's dive into the best formation with wingers in FC25: the 4213.
Tactics and Formation Setup
Let's get into the tactics, lads. The setup is as follows:
- Build Up Play: Balanced. I've found a lot of joy recently in short passing, so don't be afraid to use it, especially if your players are constantly running away.
- Defensive Approach: High.
- Depth: 71. You can use whatever you find most comfortable. I personally really like 61, but the way this game is at the moment, putting more pressure and defending higher is way more beneficial than sitting deep.
Player Roles and Instructions
Now, let's get into the player roles, lads.
- Goalkeeper: Sweeper Keeper. Use whatever your goalkeeper has got. If they have a specific trait, use it.
- Center Backs: Defender. Defender is quite simply the best in the game. You want your center backs doing the defensive work; you don't want them doing anything too spectacular.
- Fullbacks: Fullback Defend. I recommend having someone that is an out-and-out defensive fullback and then someone you could flip into a wing back or attacking wing back later on if you're losing.
- CDMs:
- Right CDM: Holding and Ball Winning. This CDM will focus on taking the ball back and being aggressive.
- Left CDM: Deep Lying Playmaker. You want someone that can pick up a goal in this position.
- CAM: Classic 10. This role is perfect for holding down the central area between the striker and the two wingers.
- Striker: Advanced Forward and Attack. You want them in the box scoring goals.
- Wingers: Inside Forward and Balanced. They are going to track back, but when attacking, they'll cut inside and play close to the striker. I recommend having a left-footed player on the left and a right-footed player on the right.
Team Selection and Substitutions
Diving in with the team, lads:
- Goalkeeper: Use whoever you want.
- Center Backs: You want lengthy center backs.
- Fullbacks: You want four meta backline lads. Two of my five subs are my fullbacks.
- CDMs: I like to have one that is more creative and then one that's more bruiser.
- Wingers: You just need out-and-out pace and the ability to score.
- Substitutions: Make the most of your five subs, lads. It will be the difference. You can literally freshen up half your outfield team with changes.
That's the 4213, lads. It's probably, well, definitely the best 433 variation in this game. It's just perfectly balanced.
