Alright Lads, let's talk about how I got to Rank 2 this weekend, even though the FC25 gameplay is, let's be honest, a bit tragic. The secret? This 4411 tactic. I'm going to break it all down for you, from the setup to the player roles, and even the types of players you should be looking for in each position. The tactic code will be in the comments and at the end of the video, so feel free to copy and paste it.

    Formation and Build-Up

We're starting with a 4411 formation. The build-up play is set to Balanced. This gives you a solid foundation to work from.

    Defensive Approach

The defensive approach is set to High 61 Depth. This is my favorite depth setting. I think it strikes the perfect balance between applying pressure and not overcommitting, which can leave you exposed. I know a lot of people use 95 depth, but if you're playing someone who's comfortable under pressure, even with the game's current feel, you can get caught out. 61 depth allows you to apply pressure without leaving yourself vulnerable to quick counters. You can always go to 95 depth if you're losing, but 61 is a great starting point.

    Player Roles and Instructions

Let's dive into the player roles, Lads:

    • Goalkeeper: Sweeper Keeper and Balanced. I don't think you can change it from balanced. If you're using a goalkeeper with a "Plus" or "Plus Plus" trait, use the corresponding setting. You'll get better animations.
    • Fullbacks: Both on "Stay Back While Attacking". In previous cycles, I loved attacking fullbacks, but this year, keeping the backline solid is key. It prevents those easy through balls and counter-attacks. I'd rather put attacking instructions on the midfield and wingers. This gives you the best balance, especially if you get caught on the counter.
    • Center Backs: "Defend" and "Defend". Don't touch it. It's perfect. The problem with "Stopper" or "Ball Playing Defender," as good as they are, is that they absolutely destroy your stamina. You'll need replacements on the bench, and the goals you concede later on are ridiculous. "Defend" is the best in the game, by far.
    • Center Midfielders: Both on "Holding" and "Defend". I've experimented with "Box to Box," but I've decided to keep them holding. They do move slightly higher to offer a passing option. Having a left-footed player on the left and a right-footed player on the right is ideal.
    • Center CAM: Balanced and Playmaker. I don't really like "Get Forward" or "Free Roam" on the CAM. I want her to stay in the central area because everything needs to go through her. If you go on "Free Roam," she'll drift too far off to the left, and if you're attacking down the right, you won't have that passing option.
    • Left Mid and Right Mid: Inside Forward and Balanced. If your opponent is using attacking fullbacks or a five-back formation, switch these to "Winger." This will make them hug the touchline and exploit the space left by their attacking fullbacks. If you're feeling comfortable defensively, you could even go "Attacking Winger" to push them even further up. But as a starting point, "Inside Forward" and "Balanced" give you a little bit of room to do the tiki-taka.
    • Striker: Advanced Forward and Attack. Use whoever you want. I like Lewandowski because he's fun. He's lengthy, and he feels quite fast. I like an aerial threat, but I also want them to be good on the ground because sometimes you need to hold the ball up and turn.

    Player Selection and Substitutions

Let's talk about the types of players you want in each position and who to sub out:

    • Center Backs: Always recommend using lengthy center backs because their catch-up speed is far greater.
    • Left Back and Right Back: I like to have one that is more of an attacker and one that is more set out to defend. Two of your five subs should be your fullbacks. I often bring on fresh legs around the 60th-65th minute mark.
    • Center Mids: You want someone that's an out-and-out CDM. You want someone that can really pass the ball.
    • Center CAM: This needs to be your most technically gifted player. You want someone that can do everything in this position.
    • Left Mid and Right Mid: You want pace and players that are going to get to the byline and support the attack and defensive play. They are going to work it back. Having players with "Relentless" in any position is ideal, but in this left mid and right mid position, having "Relentless" is really nice.
    • Striker: You want to get those fresh legs up there. I often change the way I want to play.

That's the team, Lads, and the subs we make. Leave in the comments if you use it. It's one of my favorites by a mile this year. I love that four-midfield this year with the left mid and right mid, or any formation with left mid and right mid this year. I'm all over it.
