    Alright, what's up, YouTube! We're back with another custom tactics video, and today we're diving into an updated version of the 4231 with the CAMs. It's an amazing formation, and I'm hyped to share these tweaks with you. Let's get straight into it!

    Tactical Setup: The Foundation

    First things first, the code for these tactics will be in the pinned top comment and also at the end of the video, so you can easily copy it down. We're focusing on the 4231 narrow, the one with the CAMs, not the LM/RM version.

    • Build Up Play: Balanced. I've been really liking balanced lately. Counter is good, but balanced feels like the most solid option.
    • Defensive Line Height: 61. Yes, you read that right. There's a visual glitch in the game, so even if it says "High" on the defensive approach, the actual depth you're using is the one you set here. Don't worry if you see something like 70 in-game; it's just a display error.

    Player Instructions: Fine-Tuning the Roles

    Now, let's get into the player instructions. This is where we really make the formation sing.

    • Defensive Shape: We defend in a traditional 4231 shape. You can't change that.
    • Striker: Advanced Forward and Attack. Simple and effective.
    • Central CAM: Playmaker and Balanced. I've been experimenting with this, and I think Playmaker on Balanced is the best for the central CAM in this formation.
    • Left and Right CAMs: Shadow Striker and Attack. This is key! I want these guys making those penetrating runs into the box, getting goals and assists. Shadow Striker is perfect for that.
    • Right CDM: Deep Lying Playmaker and Roam. I want this CDM to roam a bit, get involved in the attack, and help us keep possession.
    • Left CDM: Stay Back While Attacking and Defend. A traditional number six, shielding the back four and distributing the ball to the better players.
    • Left Back: Wing Back and Balanced. Provides some width on that side.
    • Center Backs: Default Defender and Defend.
    • Right Back: Full Back and Balanced.
    • Goalkeeper: Doesn't matter. Use whatever your keeper's preferred setting is (Sweeper Keeper or Goalkeeper). They both play the same.
