Hey guys, Zius here! Welcome to another video on the channel. Today, I'm going to break down the custom tactics that helped me hit my first 15 and 0 of FC 25 using the 4-4-2. I absolutely love this formation! I don't want to say there's an absolute "best" formation on the game right now, but the 4-4-2 is definitely up there.

    Formation and Player Roles

Let's dive into the specifics. The team I used to go 15-0 wasn't my main account, as I play Weekend League for different people. The team was solid, not insane, but it was a good one. Here's the lineup:

    • GK: UMAS (with the "plus plus" sweep keeper role)
    • RB: Teram (Fullback "plus plus")
    • CB: Varan (Defender "plus plus")
    • CB: Rudiger (Defender "plus plus")
    • LB: Mendy (Wing Back)
    • LM: Rafia (No specific player role)
    • CM: Patellis (Left CM, Box to Box)
    • CM: Hami (Right CM, Playmaker)
    • RM: Hansen (Inside Forward, Attack "plus plus")
    • ST: Sophia Smith (False Nine)
    • ST: Alex Morgan (Poacher "plus plus")

I'm a big fan of the "plus plus" roles on defenders. It gives them a bit more freedom without leaving you too exposed.

    Tactics

I ran these tactics pretty consistently. I found they worked well. I used "Counter" and "High" for the most part. I switched to "Balanced" in a few games if I was struggling, but overall, this setup was the key.

    • Defense:
      • Defensive Style: Counter
      • Width: 40
      • Depth: 60
      • This defensive line doesn't seem overly aggressive, but it does apply a lot of pressure.
    • Offense:
      • Build Up Play: Fast Build Up
      • Chance Creation: Direct Passing
      • Width: 40
      • Players in Box: 6
      • Corners: 3
      • Free Kicks: 3

    Gameplay and Strategy

The strengths of this formation are its pressing ability and solid defense. The two banks of four are really solid. The inside forwards offer a lot of threat, the fullbacks/wingbacks get forward enough to provide width, your midfielders can get involved, and you have a poacher making runs in behind. It played really well in-game and helped me hit my first 15-0.

The false nine up front with the poacher worked really well. You could also use an advanced forward with a false nine, depending on your team. I wouldn't recommend two poachers, as it can let you down at a higher level.

I was a bit of a "travella merchant" on this 15-0 run, not going to lie! The Finesse of Morgan was really useful as well.
