Alright, what's up guys, Zeelot here! Welcome back to another video on the channel. In this video, I'm gonna be showing you my latest custom tactics. I've been on a grind since the game came out, trying to give you guys lots of different tactics. I've given you a three-back tactic, a five-back, 4-4-2, and now this one. This might be my favorite one that I've used so far. I've tested it for about 10 games in Division One and Champs playoffs, and this formation helped me get to the Elite Division. I think I've built a very good team as well. I'm looking to get Phil Foden in after Rivals rewards. Getting him in will allow me to get my female Liga players to full chem, except Ro will be on two. I really like this team though, and it plays really well in-game. I want to really stress to you player roles, I think they make a big difference. I don't think fullback ones matter quite as much, but I think Midfield, Strikers, and Wingers, they really don't transition as well in the attack without them. So try to build a team that suits your player roles. When I do these custom tactics videos, I wouldn't just blindly copy my player roles, try and make sure they suit your team as well. But yeah, I really like this formation, it's really good.
Formation: 4-1-4-1
So, we're going to go through my tactics for the 4-1-4-1. You could play the 4-5-1, 4-4-1-1, some of them can be somewhat similar, 4-3 frees can be similar if you want to suit your team.
What I would say about the four frees is when you have a left and right winger, they just don't defend anywhere near as much, which is an issue in my opinion. I've got counter buildup, it allows me to win the ball with the high press and get my wingers and striker forward quickly. I've gone 75 depth, it's not crazy, it does mean my team pushes up quite a bit and plays the auto offside, but they don't seem to push up too much.
Player Roles
In terms of the player roles, I've gone with what's suiting my team, but I also think it just suits the game as well.
- Keeper: It really doesn't matter too much, sweeper keeper or normal keeper, just go with what your keeper has.
- Defense: Center backs, I think you could have a stopper or a ball-playing defender, but I wouldn't have two. I think at least one of them should be a defender. I've got two Defender pluses. I want one of my fullbacks to be on defend and the other to be an attacking wingback. You could go wingback. I am tempted to upgrade Men Roo to Mendy, I think he's a better card on the game, and he'd get full chem. That is an option I'm considering, and then I'd have a wingback with a fullback, but I don't want both of them to be attacking essentially.
- CDM: The Deep Play and playmaker defend really helps. Having this CDM allows my midfield and wingers to really attack, and then especially against the press, it's really hard, but having someone like Rodri, Ticky taker could sit back. It's important in this game in my opinion that CDM can pass to get out the press.
- Wingers: My two wings are inside forwards. This does allow me to attack a little bit down the wings with my fullbacks, and then I have a lot of people in the middle.
- Midfielders: I am going to have lots of gameplay clips to show you as well. Nico Williams is absolutely perfect. Rodrigo has actually been playing quite well in it, even though he doesn't have the player role. Two playmakers in the middle, Patelis and Bon May would be absolutely perfect for this, but unfortunately, can't afford Patelis right now.
- Striker: Up front, you could go any of the strikers really. Maybe a false nine might not be right because you might not have that outlet, but Advanced for Target, Ford, poach, I think they'd all work pretty well. Son's an absolute beast.
In-Game Gameplay Analysis
So you can see there, midfielders, Rodri is always sitting there as an option. Didn't realize until now, I just looked on the radar, look how high my keeper, I didn't realize keepers, sweep keepers actually go that high. So there's lots of options around the box. Having a finesse plus in this striker really does open things up because it just allows you to quickly turn and hit these long shots. I think Travellas are the best long shots on this game, but finesse plus if you can have it is a lot easier to pull off quickly.
So you can see there, lots of defenders back, he's got what, three, four, five, seven defenders around me, arguably eight with a guy at the bottom, and I still manage to find the space, hit a great finesse. The midfield are generating a lot of options. Bon May here on the wing, you see Rodriguez cutting in, he just, well, there to be fair.
You can see my midfield there, and it's just creating lots of options. I think the strike is really important in this formation, a plus plus strike is going to make more good runs as well. Pace out wide's really useful here. Driven pass into the striker, and then this is, this is the perfect one, this is one of the best clips, the right mid there, the inside forward, watch that again. So it's pace out wide, it all starts on the left, and my right mid ends up scoring it. Nice driven passing there, you can see there, Bon Mat is also occupying someone there, the right inside forward, this is why you need them on inside forward, they're actually cutting in and giving you these options.
So good through ball there, I like two playmakers capable of passing. Okay, here, the inside forward there, he don't even green it, goes in, but the inside forward overloading, overlapping, this generates the space to hit the long shot. I do think this opponent should have been defending the long shot a bit better, however, it's the first few minutes of the game, but the inside forward there create the space, that's why they're on attack, you could put them on balance, but on attack they just do this a lot more.
Nice little speed boost kind of there, didn't even do it that well, but still get through, five-star weak foot from the striker I'd say is really useful as well. So there, I'm using the overlapping run of the winger at this point. Here, I'm not afraid to cross it, nice goal there, was that Son? Yep. So again, it can counter really well, sometimes you need to go backwards and I've got the options there, bit lucky. And there again, Son playing really well.
See here, counterattacking really quick. I'm not, I don't think I've really recorded any defensive clips of it, but it is amazing defensively with this formation, really hard for people to play against. Ideally, you'd want a right footer on the right center mid and left foot on the left center mid, so Patelis and Bon May would be perfect because of this. The Travas, these travas are honestly disgusting, they just fly in all the time, it's really hard to defend. People are going to hate you when you play against you're doing that. So it really just gives the option of the playmakers get forward.
You can see me playing out the back here, some nice fluid football, really nice play there, and then nice pass to Son again, beautiful football. You can see there, really the center mids all getting involved, right mid, left mid's doing a lot, Rodri at times just holding the, um, little kind of gap in the midfield. So you can always go back to him, great for keeping the ball, great for counterattacking, great for long shots, really good going forwards, but defensively one of the best formations I've used this year. Hopefully, this video helps you out. I appreciate you all tuning in as always, keep it spicy, hope to see you guys in the next one, peace.
