Alright, alright, alright, welcome back to the channel, fam! Today, we're diving deep into some seriously overpowered tactics for FC25. You guys know I've been loving the five-back formations, and trust me, they are absolutely broken in this game. So, we're going to break down the 5-2-1-2 custom tactics that I've been absolutely loving. Let's get into it!
Tactical Setup
First things first, you're going to want to go into your custom tactics and select the 5-2-1-2 formation.
- Build Up Play: I'm using Balanced. It's just the best, in my opinion. It allows players to make varied runs, and the team transitions well. I'm not really a fan of counter or short pass, but balanced is the way to go.
- Defensive Approach: You've got two options here. I'm currently running with 61 Depth. It's been working wonders for me. But, because it's a five-back, you could go a bit more aggressive, up to 70 or even the high 80s if you're feeling spicy.
Player Roles
Now, let's get into the player roles. This is where the magic happens.
- Wing Backs (Left & Right): Join the Attack. This is a must when attacking with a five-back. You need those wing backs bombing forward to provide width and create chances. Without them, you'll struggle to create goal-scoring opportunities.
- Strikers (Both): Advanced Forward and Get in Behind. I use both of them on Complete because they drift wide a little bit as well. It's a really, really, really nice little plus when we are using two Strikers or at least having one of them on complete anyway.
- CAM: Playmaker. I love having the CAM on a playmaker role. However, Shadow Striker is also a good and viable option if you want your CAM to get forward a lot more.
- Left Central Midfielder: Box to Box and Balanced. It doesn't matter if you want to flip this around, as long as you have one of your central midfielders on box to box and then the other one as a deep line playmaker.
- Right Central Midfielder: Deep Lying Playmaker and Balanced. We don't really need our two central midfielders in the 5-2-1-2 to kind of like help out in the attacking third. It is nice on the box to box to have that one kind of sometimes getting forward and helping out but for the main we don't really need them.
- Middle Center Back: Ball Playing Defender and Defend.
- Left-Sided Center Back: Ball Playing Defender and Defend.
- Right-Sided Center Back: Defender and Defend.
- Goalkeeper: Sweeper Keeper. I really, really, really like sweeper keeper. I would recommend to use actually sweep keeper on any goalkeeper even if they don't have the plus.
Defensive Shape
Without the ball, the formation defends in a very traditional 5-2-1-2. Your opponent will really, really, really struggle to create goal-scoring opportunities.
And there you have it, the 5-2-1-2 custom tactics that are absolutely crushing it in FC25.
