Alright, alright, alright, YouTube! We're back at it again, and today we're diving deep into a formation that I absolutely, positively love: the 4-3-3 (2). This one with the single CDM and two CMs is just chef's kiss! I've been experimenting with it, and I'm telling you, I'm really, really enjoying it. It's definitely very, very, very good. Let's get into the custom tactics, shall we?
Custom Tactics
I'm using custom tactics on the Tactical preset, of course. The code for these tactics will be in the pinned comment and at the end of the video.
- Build Up Play: I'm using Balanced on the build-up play. Counter is also a good and viable option.
- Defensive Approach: I'm using a 61 line height. Trust me, even if you're struggling defensively, give that 61 line height a go. You'll be shocked at how good it is.
Player Roles
Now, let's talk player roles. This is how the team looks when we have the ball.
- Left Wing: Cutting inside as an Inside Forward and Attack. This gives us a lot of attacking options on that left-hand side.
- Left Back: Wing Back providing width on the left.
- Right Wing: Winger and Attack. This is a traditional winger, hugging the touchline.
- Right Center Midfielder: Playmaker and Attack. This is the key to the formation.
- Striker: Advanced Forward and Attack. False 9 is also a good and viable option.
- Right Back: Fullback and Balanced.
- Right Center Back: Defender and Defend.
- Left Center Back: Ball Playing Defender and Defend.
- CDM: Holding and Defend. Just an out-and-out CDM.
- Goalkeeper: Goalkeeper and Defense. Sweeper Keeper is also fine.
Player Instructions Breakdown
Let's break down those player instructions a bit more, because this is where the magic happens.
- Right Winger: I want my right winger to just hug that touchline and make penetrating runs inwards.
- Left Winger: This is the game changer! The Inside Forward and Attack instruction is like having a prime Sadio Mané, Viní Jr., or even a Kylian Mbappé when he was at PSG. This player is basically another striker. They'll get a ton of goals and assists.
- Left Center Midfielder: Because the left winger is an inside forward, I don't need my left CM getting forward as much. I need them to be a box-to-box midfielder, sometimes getting forward, but also helping out defensively.
- CDM: This is simple: Holding and Defend. Shield the back four, win the ball, and give it to the better players.
- Right Center Midfielder: Playmaker and Attack. This is so, so, so good! This role is perfect. You will be shocked at how many goals and assists the right CM will get.
- Right Back: Because we have a winger and a playmaker on that right-hand side, our right back just needs to stay back while attacking. Having him on fullback really helps.
That's how the team looks, and the code is on your screen.
