Alright, what's up, guys? Crassy here, and welcome to my first ever FC25 tutorial! Today, we're diving deep into the new tactic system in FC25. Let's get started!
Formation and Chemistry: The Foundation
First things first, you gotta pick a formation that gets your players on full chemistry. This is crucial, even if it's not your absolute favorite. Don't sweat it, because you're only using this formation for the first minute of the game. The goal is to hit that sweet 33/33 chemistry.
I'm going with the 4-4-2 for this example.
Team Management: The Tactical Playground
Now, let's get into Team Management. This is where the magic happens.
- Default Tactic: This is the tactic you selected before minute one. DO NOT TOUCH IT! Seriously, leave it alone. It's only there to boost your chemistry.
- Custom Presets: If you change the default tactic, you'll destroy your pre-minute one formation. That's why you need to leave it alone.
- Creating Your After-Minute-One Tactic:
- Use the D-pad on your controller to move right.
- Go right again to select "New Tactic" and press X.
- Name it something like "After Minute One."
- Select "Custom" for the Tactical Preset. Avoid the EA Sports presets; they don't understand how FC25 works.
- Now, you can choose ANY formation you want. This is your in-game plan. I'm going with a 4-3-3 (flat).
Build-Up Play and Defensive Approach: Setting the Tone
Next, let's look at Build-Up Play and Defensive Approach.
- Build-Up Play: You've got Balance, Counter, and Short Passing. For the first few days of the game, stick with Balance.
- Defensive Approach: This controls how deep your defenders drop and how they react to runs. Press Triangle to adjust.
- High: Aggressive, pushing your defense up the field.
- Balance: A more standard approach.
- Deep: Very defensive, like parking the bus.
- I'm going with 45 for a balanced approach.
Player Instructions: Fine-Tuning Your Squad
Now, the fun part: Player Instructions! Press the R1 button to access this menu. This is where you customize each player's role.
- Goalkeeper: You can adjust their instructions, but I'm leaving mine at default.
- Center Backs: You have options like Defender, Stopper, and Ball-Playing Defender. Experiment to see what works best for you. For now, I'm going with Defender.
- Fullbacks (LB/RB):
- Fullback: The most defensive option.
- Win Back +: A bit more attacking, joining the attack.
- FS Back: They'll join the attack through the midfield.
- Attacking Win Back: The most aggressive option, for late-game goals. I'm going with Win Back for now.
- Midfielders:
- You have options like Half Winger, Holding, Deep Line Playmaker, Box-to-Box, and Playmaker.
- I'm going with Holding for the left CM, Holding for the right CM, and Deep Line Playmaker for the central CM.
- Wingers:
- Options include Winger, Wide Playmaker, and Inside Forward.
- I'm going with Wide Playmaker for both wingers.
- Strikers:
- Options include Target Forward, False 9, Advanced Forward, and Stay Central.
- I'm going with Stay Central.
With and Without the Ball: Visualizing Your Tactics
Remember, you can see how your team looks with and without the ball by using the right stick. Press R1 to see the player instructions.
The Code: Sharing Your Tactical Genius
Once you've set up your instructions, you can share them with others using a code. This is a brand-new feature in FC25.
- Using the Code: In the "Import" menu, you can paste the code to instantly load someone else's tactics.
Multiple Tactics: Adapting on the Fly
You can create up to five different tactics using the D-pad.
- Switching Tactics: Use the D-pad to switch between your pre-set tactics during the game.
Assignments: Set Piece Mastery
Don't forget about Assignments! Press R1 to access this menu.
- Set Piece Takers: Select your best players for free kicks, corner kicks, and penalties.
- Corner Kick Instructions: You can assign players to the near post, the target player inside the box, the back post, the middle, and the far post. This is a game-changer!
In-Game Tactics: Quick Adjustments
During the game, you can quickly switch between your tactics using the D-pad.
- D-Pad Navigation: Press the D-pad once to the left to access your tactics.
- AI Suggestions: The game can suggest a tactic based on your overall strategy (attacking, defending, etc.).
That's it for this tutorial, guys! I'll be back with more in-depth guides on formations, custom tactics, and player instructions.
